When through bolting #434 strap hinges to a non-reinforced door (example:hollow metal), you must use hinge back plates. The back plate distributes the force of the fasteners over a larger surface area, thus preventing damage to the door. To be used with all #434 hinges. Construction: Steel, hole centers match strap hinge size. Size: 1/4" x 3" x 21-1/2" long Fasteners not included.
